Let’s help the kids learn to love reading while raising money for the PTA.  We hope all our families will participate and encourage the students to set goals and read, read, read!

Participation is simple:

  1. Collect pledges;
  2. Read! (and keep track of the minutes read each day on the tracking sheet);
  3. At the end of the two weeks, send in the tracking sheet to each student’s teacher; and
  4. Collect money from your child’s sponsors and send it into the school.

We ask parents/caregivers to help the students to secure pledges from friends and family based on the total number of minutes read during the 2 week program. And during the two week event, we ask that you help them keep track of the minutes read and sign off on their reading logs daily.

All types of reading materials are accepted (e.g. magazines, newspapers, books, etc.) and children who aren’t able to read independently may be read to and those minutes count. Our primary goal is to develop better readers all around, and to strengthen the love of reading in all our students. There will be prizes for top readers per grade, classes with the most minutes read, top money earners, and more.
